Two years after Hurricane Katrina, the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO) is still one of the biggest threats to the city. The MRGO dramatically increased flooding in the city during Katrina. Experts at Louisiana State University have clearly demonstrated that the MRGO funneled the storm surge, increasing the height and speed of the water that shot into New Orleans.
