The short explanation of this alert was:
Audubon's campaign to save our wetlands, water, wildlife and Wood Storks
More than 1,000 acres of important wetlands and endangered Wood Stork foraging habitat, adjacent to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, are under threat by several residential golf course project proposals. Audubon of Florida and Collier County Audubon Society have teamed up to Save Our Swamp, and with your help, we will be successful.

Here's How You Can Help:
- Sign our electronic petition to the agencies asking them to protect and restore these wetlands and habitats, and to deny these permits. Our wetlands, water, wildlife and Wood Storks depend on it.
- When you sign our petition, leave the optional box checked to receive periodic updates on the issue and our SOS newsletter.
- Please consider a financial contribution supporting Audubon’s SOS campaign, including litigation, science and policy work for the Cocohatchee Slough and Corkscrew Swamp. Your support will help fund Audubon’s SOS campaign work in conjunction with the Cocohatchee Slough Coalition. This coalition includes Audubon of Florida, Collier County Audubon Society, Florida Wildlife Federation, National Wildlife Federation and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
